Exams increase reading adherence

Exams increase reading adherence

I think it's by nature that we don't like exams (apologies if you do; I believe most of us don't). We're tested and graded on things we might not be certain we fully understand yet, and that causes quite a bit of anxiety by itself.

However, looking at it another way; I do believe it's one of the only ways I could've read my books this fast.

I've been telling myself I'd be reading the latest version of the BCSC and finishing the entirety of it within a month, then it turned to two months, and on and on.. software projects came in (and also bugs), and priorities shifted from "I'm going to read everything" to "I'll just read some parts I feel like I need for now" to "I'll read next week".

Then suddenly my colleague reminded me that we still have final exams to go through before the board exams, and that it was due in 2 weeks.

The priority to read shifted into the front row as soon as possible, and now I've been reading books 2-3 days straight. Well... apart from the setting up of this blog, which had already been planned for a long time, but a very good reason for it to actually materialize had just occurred, but I guess that story's better told another time. All I know is, it's sometimes great to get something (or multiple things) off from the back of your mind; really helps in the overall focus after spending time setting up the site.

That's it for this post.

Back to reading.
